2013 Ford Cmax Hybrid

posted 30th Jan
Any one bought one? any opinions? the reviews are slim online. and i'm thinking alot of the negative ones are from people who don't realize you have to drive effectively and that the electric mode isn't going to be as efficient if don't drive carefully/appropriately as well as it says you have to stay under 62mph for it to work that way not on fuel.... anywhoo... anyone buy one? what's your take on it? i love that its sort of a blend of the focus and escape's looks! i've had a focus and miss it, currently have a fusion.. and let me say the average of 22mpg i get sucks!!! so even if i don't get the boasted 47mpg whatever i do get will be better than that!! plus i only live 8miles away from work, and the highest speed limit is 55mph between here and there. and half the drive is only at 35mph... so what ya think?

I'm not a fan of the look - lol
IMO
I'm just happy with my 2012 Focus. It's sporty, gets great gas mileage and yeah! I don't know too much about the Cmax. I work for a TV station and we just did a commercial for it. I dunno. It's supposed to be Ford's latest and greatest. I'd say test drive it and see what you think

we test drove it today, i'm still in love with it.. i just figured i'm sure there is opinions people form after driving it on a daily basis ya know? i love love love the focus! but i am the only driver in our house (my husband is legally blind and has nerve damage) so he is always in the passenger seat. he is also 6foot tall. we have a 5year old and a 2 year old. so car seat, booster seat in the back, on occasion a dog traveling with us, and in a car its not so much fun having a siberian husky squeeze down in the floor board with you.... this has a hatchback and he would lay comfortably back there.. as well as plenty of space for a 5th passenger if the need arose.

yes there will come a day!!! we had a 2009 focus and in 2010 we had our 2nd little one, and then in 2011 we gave up and traded for more space, i didn't want an suv, because i hate bigger vehicles, and i didn't want SUV mileage on gas either... but trading in my average of 35-36mpg and only 13.5gallon tank and small car to whip in to parking, to the fusion with nearly 20gallon tank and 22-24mpg... plus 50more on payment... yea... its time for the fusion to go buh byes!! and the cmax seems the best route so far...

I personally do not like the look. But I'm a truck girl. But I'll take that MPG any day. I'm getting 15.4 right now

I know what you mean. Here gas is 3.15-3.30 and I HATE filling up my truck. It cost me anywhere from 80-100+ to get a full tank and that doesnt even last a full week. My stepmother did sell us her old SUV. So at least the MPG will be cheaper. We got it for 2700.00 and its a 04. It's in good condition. Just needs a few minor things my husband can fix and the registration and inspection. So once my hubs gets that I will be driving hoping to save gas.

I filled my truck up on Sunday with 380 miles and Im down to 96 today

ive been putting 20.00 here or there in the fusion.. hahaha... its about 3.30 to 3.45/gallon here and to fill up it pushes me close to 50.00 and i know thats no comparison to yours, but man its alot. when the closest stores or seeing his mom is a 45mile round trip to just go to that one place and back home, no additional stops, so thats 2 gallons right there!

Yesterday when I wanted to fill up ( I try and not let it go under a quarter tank) I almost cried when I saw the 3.30. Needless to say I didnt fill up. Its usually cheaper here by work.

It does suck. I live in a big city so your driving just for 20-40 minutes to get anywhere. Since the truck is newest then all the other vehicles we have we always take it too. >.<
