If you know that he doesn't mean it offensively, why would you continue to act like he was doing it to offend you?

And posting about it/him on facebook is a very 14 year old thing to do. I would have deleted you and messaged you about it as well.

If it was that big of an issue, you should have simply told him how it was making you feel and asked him to think of another nick name for you.

i would pull him aside and explain myself like an adult.
say how much you love the family and how your son loves the family, but that he has to stop calling you a clown, that it hurts your feelings etc. and that that status was not about him and that youd have no reason to talk ill about him...

She obviously didn't read it thoroughly. But she's right... somewhat. If you don't like the name tell him he needs to find something else to call you that's not offensive. I wouldn't be this worked up over it I would just tell him to cut it out. He's a grown man and if he can dish it he should be able and ready to take it.

even if they dont mean it in a bad way it would always feel like an insult to me, so i can absolutely understand the way you are feeling here.
so yea...id suggest to wait until you have calmed down, do not respond to the FB stuff and have a face to face convo with the guy when you are calm again and explain your feelings.
make sure you keep reminding him about how great the family makes you feel too though so he wont feel like its an attack.
