I need reassurance...my baby dropped. Please super scared.

My DS has dropped, and is super low, his head is engaged and in position for birth. My OB said he is very, like very, very, very low down. I am in a lot of pain, which I am not trying to sound like I am complaining because I am not at all. I know pain comes with pregnancy. But since my DS has dropped about 2-3 days ago, I have been in major serious pain, it's horrendously painful to walk, and move certain ways. I don't feel like I will make it to 40 weeks, and now not only do I have this gut feeling but people keep scaring the hell out of me telling me that their baby came within 2 weeks after they dropped...I am about to be 35 weeks. I don't like the pain but I can live with it, especially if my son needs more time. So I need reassurance, if he is head down, and has dropped and is super low right now, and I have been having contractions/BH a lot, that are pretty painful but not close together, does it sound like he will come early? I am afraid for him to come to early . How long after your LO dropped and was head down did you go into labor? Please help, I am extremely scared about this...

My first didn't drop to head down until I was in labor. But this time, baby has been head down since 20 weeks. I've had the dropping pains, etc. you've described for 5+ weeks now & I'm currently 39 weeks & 1 day, so I'm no expert but I'm not sure dropping means it's going to happen soon.

It isn't very likely. Mine is head down & has been for awhile. Some other people due around the same time as me dropped weeks ago & are not close to going into labour.

my son dropped around the same time as you and I gave birth via csection at 39 weeks. He probably would of stayed in longer

I kno the pain ure talking about...it's really painful! But I think just bc he's low doesnt mean he will come early..just like jut bc ure dialting doesn't mean he's going o come early. It's really unpredictable.

Dropping really doesn't mean anything except that that particular step has already been done once labor starts, which is nice.
My dd dropped around 30 weeks and was on position for birth, I had her at 41 weeks. This baby has already dropped and has been head down for a couple weeks now, I'm 26 weeks.
Dropping really means nothing, you're fine.

Quoting Due w/ a little boy!:" My DS has dropped, and is super low, his head is engaged and in position for birth. My OB said he is ... [snip!] ... . How long after your LO dropped and was head down did you go into labor? Please help, I am extremely scared about this..."
My DD dropped at like 31 weeks & my water broke at 35. That was 4 weeks of terrible pain. BUT don't worry! If he comes now, he should be perfectly fine, just small. DD was 5 lbs 8 oz & didn't even have to go to the NICU
She just fought jaundice for a couple days & then we went home.

Relax, I'm sure everything will be okay. My baby dropped and is engaged and has been for 2 weeks (I'm almost 31 weeks now). Good luck.

OH Yay thank gosh. I hate when people put it in my head that things might happen! It is scary to think of him coming to early especially if he isn't ready! Oh this is a good bit of relief thanks ladies, I feel a lot better!

We are due the same day!! My baby dropped about 2 weeks ago....She's so low they had to do a vaginal ultrasound to get what they needed of her head. But I'm still pregnant. I'm very uncomfortable, but I'm in this for the long haul!!!

Mine was head down but never dropped. He was still -3 when I started pushing.. yeah I never got him out Don't worry though! Be happy he has dropped it may be painful now but it wont last!

Even if he does come early, I was 2 months early. And I was, and am perfectly fine. I'm sure it will all work out for ya.

My son dropped more than 4 weeks ago so I wouldn't worry if I were you. The pains... normal. I can't tell you how painful it is to get in and out of bed everyday. Or how hard it's become to turn over in my sleep because my pelvis and butt bones ache soooo much. It's just a part of the pregnancy woos darling. You and LO will be just fine.

My son dropped and was engaged at 32 weeks. I was terrified. Know what that little stinker did? Hopped right on back up. Doctors were like .... "Oh well ... Now you're not. Wow, good luck with that kid when he comes out"
