DNA test and your teenage son

posted 30th Jan
If your teenage son got a girl pregnant would you want him to take a DNA test before he signed the birth certificate? What about if it was your daughter, would you have the boy DNA tested?

If they had been together for a while and he didn't have any doubts along with me knowing the girl then no, but if it was kinda fishy then definitely.

Probably not.

They know what they were doing. Unless there was some reason to think some little teenage girl was trying to create a conspiracy theory, I'd trust that he knows whether or not he got a girl pregnant, and I would certainly hope that my daughter wasn't sleeping with more than 1 person and needed a DNA test.

Yes and Yes. I don't want my son paying for a kid that isn't his and vice versa if I ever have a girl.

Yes definitely. And in VA the court wont allow a minor to be ordered to pay child support without a DNA test even if he is on the birth certificate. The judge will court order the boy to be tested first. Your state could be different though.

Absolutely. I'd make them act as though it is their baby the whole time but I still wouldn't let him sign the AOP until the test was done. If I had a daughter, I'd expect the same from her boyfriend. But, if my son loved the girl and loved the baby, I wouldn't expect him to just drop them based on the results.

Yep. I know someone who had a guy friend come sign her kids birth certificate so she could put the kid up for adoption without the bio dad knowing. Not the same thing but I wouldn't trust anything without a test.
