how soon is too soon?

How soon after breaking up/divorcing your BD did you start dating again? I'm not ready to commit to a relationship yet but I want to start making connections. Like making new friends that could lead to something else, KWIM?

It really depends on where you are at emotionally. When BD and I broke up I started dating right away cuz I had been so over him for years.

It took me about a month to really date. but then I realized I wasnt into wanting to date, I just didnt want to be alone. Im wading in the dating pool after being out of it for about a good year and a half. lol. Dont rush into anything that you dont want to do.

to soon is when ur not mentally ready, i was with my childrens dad for 10 years, however i almost threw a party when we split (infact think i did)lol., i wasnt bruised in the slightest... so i started dating. however it wasnt untill 2 years later i met somone both me and my children feel in love with. x all is good and well, aslong as u feel emotionally ready. eh and good luck mama... these are infact exciting times.. meeting new people and all. x

If you're still an emotional basket case over your breakup it's too soon lol. Seriously though it's different for everyone, you'll know when you're ready. Just don't force it! I dated a guy a couple months after I separated from my husband, way too soon but I just didn't want to be alone. Now it's been 8 months and I'm "content" being single. I'm not looking for anyone but I sure as hell wouldn't complain about being in a relationship with the right guy at this point!
