Where it's the light in this tunnel???

My 8 week old cries, eats, sleeps and poops & that is all. She is up and happy for about 30 minutes to 1hr...2-3 times a day but then cries until I can get her back to sleep.

I guess I'm just wondering when she'll start being content...I'm ready for this difficult nb stage to be over.
It's hard going places like the store because she screams and cries lol.
& family visits are hard because everyone wants to hold her which just leads to crying- all she wants is to eat or sleep.
She won't take a binky either, we've tried all kinds (she's bf-ing).

wrap and boob her as much as you can and hopefully it'll help.
DS started being awake for longer periods at 12-13 weeks old, it happened almost overnight.

I've read into Colic and I don't think that's what it is. She doesn't cry for long periods of time and she doesn't seem like she's in pain.
It's more of a fussy cry.

I hope it doesn't last long though. It makes doing anything outside of the house miserable. Car rides are the worst!

Oh no! I guess some little ones are just more difficult lol.
I hope things get better for you and your LO.

DS was a high need newborn just like that. There were days that I thought I might go insane!   It gets easier. My best advice is to wear her. I smothered DS with lots of love at the beginning and it got a little easier at three months, a little easier a month later and so on and so forth. He is almost 11 months old now and is the easiest child ever! I feel I gave him the security of knowing I would always be there early on and now he is confident enough to do his own thing.

Our turn-around time was between 3 and 4 months. They started sleeping through the night then and started being more alert and playful during the day. Ours were 5.5 weeks early though so maybe earlier for you! Just hang in there.

Yes some are just more high needs than others unfortunately.

What you said about car rides, yeah I haven't had a quiet non-scream filled car ride in 3 years

im in the same boat i wish mine would take a paci so much sometimes but he refuses and hes really tounge tied so he cant keep one in his mouth for very long. once she starts sitting up and crawling she will start getting more independent.

DD was like that. At first she wouldnt take a soother either but it was because she didnt know what to do with it. I just kept trying and I would hold it in her mouth until she got the hang of it(since it was a different suck than the boob) It took a while for her to figure it out but once she did it was easier! It got better around 3 months.

It will go by really quick! I kept telling myself that and a couple times I didn't believe it, but now LO is 9 months old and I wonder where that time went!!

I used to feel the same way. I used to cry sitting in front of the girls holding in the pacis so they would be content for a few minutes. They never did take to the pacis, but it was just a stage. Once they got better motor control, they could finally suck their thumb or a toy if they wanted and that helped!
