How far along are you? You can refuse and induction there is no way to accurately tell what size the baby is.

It doesn't matter how big he is, if you're not due, refuse the induction. The baby isn't coming out because it still needs to develop. Ultrasounds are up to 2lbs off. Not worth your baby being in the NICU. I was a size zero and birthed a 9lb baby at 41 weeks.

Expect it to take awhile. Bring things for you and SO to do.

Also, I would limit visitors at first so you can get some good rest in before your contractions pick up. My induction was 29 hours from start until they called a C-section. So it was a long adventure.

Good luck mama!

I won't refuse it only because my pelvic bones aren't very big and he is worried she won't fit through properly. I'm just concerned people have mentioned to me that its a lot worse because the pain is more intense .. ? Is this true..

In a lot of cases yes the pain is worse. With natural labor your body slowly builds up to full blown contractions. With an induction you're forcing your body to have contractions that are in most cases much more painful and intense than a natural one. Not the case for everyone but yes increased pain is more common. Which can lead to getting an Epi to soon which can cause labor to slow down and if you dont progress fast enough on the doctors schedule then leads to a c-section.

Did cave women get induced? No.

I was a SIZE ZERO and birthed a 9lb baby.

Your body is designed to give birth naturally.

Will you be able to forgive yourself if your baby is underweight and it's lungs are undeveloped?

How far along are you? Are you dilated at all?

When I'm induced I'll be 2 days away from my due date.. I'm 39 weeks at the moment.

are you dilated at all? Usually if you are 3-5cm you can ask the doctor to just break your water vs. pitocin which will usually get labor going on its own especially if you're already having contractions.
