If you are dead set on an induction I would talk to your doctor about intermittent monitoring or if they have a wireless monitor available. You want to be walking and up and moving around. Laboring on your back is the worst thing for labor progression. Get an exercise ball and sit on that instead of laying in the bed.

i'd say theres more risk of having a c-section being induce..you are so close, i would just wait. baby isnt gonna gain and extra 5 pounds in the week or so. Watch the business of being born. It's crazy how quick doctors are to induce these days.

Late here but I think OP is either at or very near to her due date.
Not sure though.
That's amazing though about being a size 0 and giving birth to a 9 LB baby.
In my case my pelvice really was too small and DD wouldn't fit through it. She went into distress and I required a c-section.
and I am certainly no size zero, me feels like a little bit less of a woman now lol.
I do agree that many inductions are completely unnecessary though.

I am indeed very close to my due date, I'll be 2 days away from my due date when he does the induction. And I was also told my pelvice bones wouldn't be able to handle it, and the baby probably would not fit if we didn't get her out as soon as possible.

Well have you made any cervical progress? If so your chances of a successful induction goes up.
In my opinion, two days away from your due date isn't too bad. I know others will disagree but it's not like your OB is rushing to take the baby out right at 37 weeks.
It comes down to whether or not you trust your OB I think. Googling him or her to see if he or she is induction happy might help you decide.

if your induced 2 days from your due date you may be in laboe until your due date.. and actually have the baby on time..

I have googled him, he seems to be the only Ob any one really likes in my town. And at my last appointment last week I was 1 cm, 50% effaced .

Just do you know op, unless our baby is a freak of nature, he/she is not too big to birth on or after yor due date, your doctor just doesn't want to risk havig you spontaneously go into labor over the weekend. I you hav really done all the research you say you have then you already know that being induced, especially before your due date and with our first baby, puts you at considerably higher risk of havig to have an emergency c-section than just having a big baby.

I was a size zero and delivered an 8lb 1oz baby and a 9lb baby naturally at 42 and 41 weeks respectively. Your doctor is taking advantage of the fact that you are a naive teenager who will trust everything he says.

Not all doctors induce early...my doctor induced me at 41 or 42 weeks and a week before i was induced all i was at was 1 cm...the night of my induction i was at 2cm before they started the process.

point being not everybody gets induced early.

To the op,i hope your induction went well and didn't take very long.

The induction went fine actually. 15 hours of labor and 20 minutes of pushing.
