It's not an opinion. I stated facts. I guess other states have different laws and I didn't realize that. It's rape here whether the parents like it or not. I never said I agreed or cared if she broke the law. Just simply stated facts. You are assuming I feel a certain way.

Because although in Oregon age of consent it "18"..In alabama(where OP is from) age of consent is the same as it is in MD which is "16" So there are no laws being broke....(even though that's not the point of this post what so ever!!)

I was just pointing it out and it can continue to be repeated over and over. But had it been the law there too like I thought when I said that then I didn't understand why that wasn't the big deal but race was.

not trying to be rude, but the race of your baby shouldn't matter. i honestly don't think you should be so concerned with the race of your baby and too often say "bi-racial". reading your post made it come off as you were referring your baby an an "it". i understand that life hasn't been been completely in your favor but id say be thankful that you have the support you do have and disregard those who have a problem with your situation. no one has control over who they love, only what they create from it. sorry to hear about the family situation, but all you can really do is love and cherish your baby. hope all goes well and stay strong.

I get her concerns I mean as a mother of a child who isn't white in Alabama. My SO is from TN, and he said "Damn that sucks" he's not racist but he knows how it can be in a society where half the people don't believe in science, and think the superior race is white. At the same time it all depends on the area. No matter who you are or what your race is on the other hand OP, there will always been someone who doesn't like it, and will make you feel inadequate. It may not happen to white citizens as often but it does. Here where I lived I'm a "Cracker" or a little "White girl" and when I was in high school the population of white vs anything else was ridiculous. My first year in high school as a Freshman there was a race war between Skinheads and the African Americans. Just raise your baby right, and teach them it's wrong to be that way. If move to another area if it gets out of control. But you're not having a 'bi-racial baby' you're having a baby. And it just happens to be bi-racial. Saying it the other way is almost labeling it yourself.

It's...a little disturbing that women here are celebrating the fact that a person's "boyfriend" committed statutory rape. Not in case of the OP, since many states age of consent IS 16, but...what. Even.

My entire dad's side of my family is racist, OP. I'm married to a black man with a baby AND a baby on the way. Our son was not even 3 days old when my father called him the 'N word' for the first time. My family did not visit us in the hospital, nothing. It hurts to be told such terrible things about the man you love and your unborn child but this is reality.. I try my best to look past it and hope that my family will learn to see how wonderful all of my kids are, not just the white one. They are slowly coming around, he will be 1 next month. A lot of people don't want to believe that race has anything to do with anything but in every state, every country, racism is still very, very real. If you ever want to talk/vent/whatever feel free to PT and PM me or whatever. Good luck..

When I started to see this conversation moving in the direction of woman acting like minors having sex with adults is ok, and "celebrating" it I moved on from the discussion.

I saw people saying, in their state it was not against the law, so that it was OK... but just because a state says somthing is not illegal does not make it ok

I have found that on babygaga a lot of the women are younger and for some reason younger woman seam to be more approving or more celebratory in your terms of this.

So I have learned that when I am in a babygaga chat and women start talking about, what I conciser statuary rape(even is some states don't). I just leave the chat and move on. Because I don't want to get ganged up on from a bunch of young woman who think its ok for teenagers to date and have sex with men in their 20's.
