I don't love it, and don't hate it. It's definitely not a bad name, just not really my taste.

Also, I've been seeing it everywhere lately! Just on here, there's been, like, 10 Silas's born in the past few months!

I just want to find a name we can agree on. But I won't settle. It's frustrating.

it will be easier once you know what they are  
That way you aren't making a list of names for both sexes.

We've had the girls name set since I found out I was knocked up! Amity October.

And that makes perfect sense! With Tegan, I could NOT find a girl name I liked, but I knew I wanted Jude Scott (now he hates it), for a boy.
Beyond frustrating.

I personally love the name, but I am biased as it is my ten year old's name   My mom hated it as well, but I gave her the big F U and gave him the name anyways... I don't think it's a hillbilly name at all

I loved it the first time I heard it which was before I was pregnant (Method Man in How High... funny movie, but not the reason I just thought the name was different)... when I found out I was having a boy I found it again, loved the meaning behind it and it just stuck!

I do agree with some of the other posters though... it does seem to be growing in popularity, but I guess that could also be a matter of where you live and what you expose yourself to (like BG for example where there are a lot of women, I have seen the name a lot here recently).
