tummy sleeping

posted 30th Jan
i've read that it's bad to let your baby sleep on their stomach because it increases the chances of sids. my son is 3 weeks, but he only sleeps on his stomach when he's taking an hour nap on my chest. is that ok?

DD slept on her tummy starting at a week old. It was the only way she could sleep. It is perfectly fine to let him sleep on your chest.

I let my son sleep on his tummy all the time. Just make sure you don't leave the room with them like that and they'll be fine

I rolled up a few receiving blankets and put them to each side of LO..to secure him and make sure he could not move from side position. I always felt like side was better for babies. Once he could roll around, front to back, I pretty much let him sleep however he wanted

On your chest is fine. If anything bad were to happen you would obviously notice it.

he only sleeps on his tummy when he's on me. during the night he always sleeps on his left side and now he has a bump above a soft spot.

for the first 7 weeks i slept on the couch with my baby sleeping on her tummy on my chest...she slept better on her tummy but i wanted to be able to keep an eye on her and i woke with the slightest movement. At 8 weeks she started sleeping on her side or tummy in the bed with me.

Being a first time mom, i'm paranoid about everything, and want to do what is best for lo.
