Too old for all this!

My 5 1/2 year old wrote his name with a blue pen on our white bathroom door. He's drawn all over his mattress and on some of his and DD's toys. Also he draws on himself and DD. he also rips up paper in tiny pieces and throws it in the floor.

Isn't he a little old for all this? He's never really done this before until the last couple of months.

I would think so. DD is 4 and knows not to do that

Yeah, DD is 3 1/2 and doesn't do it. DS hasn't done it either until recently. Now nothing is safe.

Maybe it's a cry for attention?

Maybe he just got intouch with his creative side.

Maybe so. His grandpa died about a month ago and DS is taking it pretty hard. He's became a very difficult child to handle since then.

My soon to be 6 year old does that from time to time.

When I'm at home he gets a time out and I'll make him help clean it up, but the vast majority is done while I'm at work and SO is at home. I tell SO to tell DS that he can't e doing this, but I don't think he does.

Oh lord DS blames DD for a lot of it too, but DD doesn't know how to make smiley faces like he does or how to write his name.

I can distinctly remember being 5 and going into my parent's bathroom, grabbing some lipstick, going into my big brother's room, and drawing ALL OVER his wall with it. I still have no earthly idea why I did it! I was just bored. But boy did I get it when my Mom and brother saw it. My butt still hurts lol. Never tried anything like it again.
