Infant or convertible car seat?

This has probably been posted before butttt. Infant or convertible car seats? This is my first child so I don't know the pros and cons of each. We're going to have two vehicles so I'm thinking about just buying one of each?
For those with convertible car seats what do you use to carry the baby around?
Which would you recommend? Any brand/particular car seat that is better than others? TIA. (:

We got an infant car seat for DD but we always left it in the car so for baby #2 we are just going to get a convertible from the start. DD has the MyRide70 and we love it so far  

Convertible seat is the best bet. I'd use wraps in the store to carry LO.

It's easier to use an infant seat. You can bring it in stores & not worry about where the baby sits. If the baby is asleep you don't have to wake them to go in the house after being out. You can buy a second base for the second car & use the infant seat in both.

You will eventually need 1-2 convertibles, but not for a couple of months. It's easier to have 2 so you don't have to worry about not having a seat by accident.

An infant seat is all about convenience and its a convenience that I love. I hated waking the baby up to put into a carrier (plus i hated every carried we tried) or being in the house so infant seat it is for us!

Best advice to you if plan on babywearing all the time then go for a convertible carseat bit IMO an infant carseat is very beneficial

Depends on 2 things really. To save money, a convertible. If you'd rather have the convenience of being able to carry them in the carseat instead of taking them out when you go somewhere, an infant seat. Personally, I prefer to use an infant seat until 1 year or until they outgrow the infant seat (My first 2 outgrew infant seat at 7 months), I like having the travel system so when we go somewhere I can take the stroller out and put the car seat on it without having to move them/wake them, and I can see them better because they're right in front of me in the car seat. But if you don't want to spend money on two car seats, or if you don't mind unbuckling and waking them up every time you go somewhere, you can't beat the convertible.

Moby wrap and Ring Slings are awesome for newer babies and last well into the second year.
