Miscarriage and giving birth to the baby

My baby died and im 15 weeks along. Baby measures 12 weeks 6 days. They won't do a d&c but are making me give birth to the baby and pass it naturally at the hospital. Has anyone done this? Ive never had a baby before and I am so scared of the pain or what this is going to be like.

I've heard of someone having to do this when she lost twins at about this many weeks.I'm so sorry for you'r loss, must be really hard for you  

They won't let you have a d&c? I had one done the day I was suppose to be 15 weeks and my baby had died between 12 and 13 weeks. My doctor did try to convince me to take the pill to make it pass but I said I wanted a d&c. I'm so sorry hun...hugs!

I begged for the d and c. The doctor said it was too big and I couldn't.

Well, thats just stupid. I hate doctors sometimes.

*hugs* I am sorry you're going through this, I just went through something similar. My baby stopped growing at 8w6 days and I passed it naturally at home at 12w2d. For me the pain was like labor, just not AS bad. It was more really severe cramping and I got extremely light headed because I had an anxiety attack (I have high anxiety to begin with). Why do you have to do it in the hospital, instead of at home?

If you truly want the surgical option, you need to consult with another doctor. I've had a d&e at 14 weeks and other women on this site have had them past that point.

I agree. Sometimes a second opinion is best.

I am so sorry, mama. I can't answer your question, but just know you are in my thoughts.  

First off i'm very sorry for your loss.  
Second I would be terrified if I was told that.
Third I'd get ANOTHER OPINION, I would, myself, want a dnc.
