Really? It's like everyone IRL is telling me all kinds of horror stories about placentas going bad and stillbirths due to going past 42 weeks. So I'm scared as smurf. I'd much rather let her stay in there until she's completely ready to come out on her own.

Mind over matter at this point. You can start walking to get the contractions to get regular and stronger. It is frustrating especially toward the end. We all get to that point. Then when it is "time" we aren't ready. We want to stay pregnant for a little longer. lol It is a crazy ride. lol

There is a mama on here that went to 43 weeks and her boy was perfectly healthy. Also a friend of mine has had one pregnancy go 43 weeks and the baby she had last night went 42 weeks, both healthy. It's becoming more common now that people realize the due date is an estimation.

As long as you and her are healthy, with good fluid levels, I don't see why you would need induced.

I know a girl who's baby died for drinking castor oil .. it can makes babies very sick!! Don't try that. I know plenty of women who get inductions and are fine and so are the babies.

I have no idea what I think is more dangerous. However I'm not completely against castor oil. I had a chat to my midwife about it when I was pregnant with my last baby. She told me the 'right' way to take it and told me what the 'wrong' way was. And she said to let her know immediately if I decided to take it so she's aware.we discussed the risks and I did my own research and decided against it.

I think that anyone that decides to take castor oil need to let their LMC know so they're aware, and preferably with the LMCs ok.

That's very weird   Castor oil is a common thing in most other countries & amongst midwives here. It is not dangerous when taken properly.

Agree.

My friend took it & it worked for her. No problems w/ her or baby.

I am going to guess that this girls baby died because the mom took too much, got dehydrated and the cramping was severe enough to tear the placenta. That is the worst case scenario that I have heard. We all know what happens when the placenta tears. OR the baby could have had a BM in utero and they didn't catch baby had inhailed mecomium and that is what cause the death of the baby. That is very possible in a hospital that wouldn't normally look for that if the mom didn't mention what she did. OR, they weren't "paying attention".

that all makes sense.

sigh... no matter what someone takes, they should at least do enough research to take the correct dosage & etc.
