They aren't that hard to clean. Takes 30 seconds.

OP: i started my son off with a fruit than 3 days later we would try a vegetable, if he didnt like it i would try another one a few days after that taste test and after a few weeks later try the one he didnt like and most of the time he liked them, but than again i only had issues with apples and pears :-( he doesnt like those, but he loves veggies and bananas! lmao, strange how kids are sometimes. lol but just keep trying different ways to give it to her to try :-) she will eventually like it you may have to try some new method or try making it yourself :-) how you raise your baby is how you raise her!im not trying to start anything with anyone else on this thread, but every mother is different, we all raise our babies different. what others want to do is their choice, no need in trying to prove a point to someone who is already set in their ways. OP do what you think is best and just keep trying!

and its UK so "weaning" means giving foods in ADDITION to breast milk..

6 months is the earliest to start...honestly purees teach a baby nothing imo.

My son started taking interest at 9 months with BLW....by 10 months he was eating everything we eat....every baby is different

He never ate purees.

I'm glad someone didn't jump down my throat about it

When you're informed and your baby is ready, it's fine. At 8 months, DS had almost 10 teeth and was ridiculously frustrated with purée so we tried and never bought another pouch of food again!

You are VERY misinformed.. I have been giving my son chunks of food since about 6 months following baby led weaning. 7 months is NO WHERE near too young. In baby led weaning typically you DO NOT give baby food what so ever.

Holy crap! Thats alotta teefers!! My son had four front teeth when he started  .....but they really chew with their back gums anyway...which are super hard and work just fine

I just think every baby is different/has different likes. Our babies and a crap ton of other babies are more interested feeding themselves. It makes sense to me...cuz its primal  .

My DD started right on table foods at 6 months old with no teeth at all. She will be 1 on the 4th and just cut her first tooth.

She started with carrots broccoli green beans spinach banana cheese etc....right on her tray mixed with rice and pastas with diced up meats like chicken pork etc....she has never gagged or choked on anything as of yet.

Some babies don't like purees. Or jarred foods

Quoting Kendra Love:" Hi there, My 7 month old daughter will not eat her veggies! The only one i've been able to get her to ... [snip!] ... her daddy and I eat like spaghetti (we give her little tastes) and she for some odd reason loves medium salsa? Any tips!?"
Do you try repeated exposure to the veg she "doesn't like"? I have heard it can take like 4 or something times of tasting the food for baby to become familiar with it and in turn "like" it. My babies gag on every new food the first couple times I give it to them and then they usually start enjoying it.

My son's face when he first attempted rice cereal was hilarious! I'll admit, I never offered it again because I'm one who tastes the food and if I think it's horrible, I won't let him eat it. Don't get me wrong, I'm aware that it's flavoured differently to grown-up foods because their tastebuds are developing and such... But I've tested baby foods that taste relatively decent before so I know it can be done

Have you tasted infant formula before though? That stuff is nasty!!! They don't seem to mind it though.

Try making it yourself, or wait and try BLW, like Bettinas suggested. DS is 7 months and has no interest in purees at all, but since he doesn't have any teeth yet I'm waiting to try BLW. In the meantime he's still EBF. I realize that it may not be so easy for you if your baby is FF since that's a lot of bottles. But it's something to consider.

I actually do it regularly. It's how I gauge temperature because I'm too paranoid to use my arm! The ones that are fortified with extra iron are horrible but those are unnecessary. The regular formula is fine because it's already nutritionally what the baby needs and additional iron binds them up. I find that S-26 is the best tasting and DS didn't mind it at all. He doesn't drink too much milk now but he has regular milk when he does so it doesn't matter too much now.

I actually 100% agree. I EBF all of my kids but you are 100% right. I have seen too many babys get constipated because the mother (who thought she was doing the right thing) bought the extra iron. I don't even know why they make that in the first place. I get that some kids might need that extra boost but they actually make infant iron drops that they can have rather than making something like that available to the general public.

It all comes down to one thing. It's green and speaks all languages... It's horrible that they care more about money than the health of a baby
