re: Soft cervix

Quoting Summerfrost:" For me, my mucus plug normally looks like a huge grayish booger. It's normally a huge chunk the first ... [snip!] ... issues with my oldest getting wedged in there the wrong way. My middle son popped out of there in less than 2 pushes though. "

That's what they called it! They said I had a lip on my cervix and not to push no matter what, which was fine because I couldn't feel a damn thing anyway after my epidural. I couldn't even move. DH had to put my legs up for me   I wish they wouldn't have turned that pump up so high. I wanted to be able to move! I digress.

When I got home today I went to the bathroom and you know how (TMI warning) during AF when you go pee you bleed into the toilet sometimes? Then you wipe and there's quite a bit of bright red blood and dark red clots? That's what this was. Then I had some thick, clear/pinkish discharge for a while and now I'm having some brown spotting.

Maybe since my cervix is already softening I'll deliver easier this time too   I spent an hour and a half pushing with DS and I had to get a third degree episiotomy before he could pull him out and it sucked. Then I don't really remember much because I passed out from being awake 34 hours with nothing to eat or drink lol. I remember holding him for a second when the doctor PLOPPED him on me lol. I guess that's when DH cut his cord. I don't even know. He was the first baby I ever saw in my life and I was mostly like uhhhhhh, there's a baby on my stomach, wtf do I do with it?! LOL. This makes me feel like even if I don't go into labor until after my due date it will be a much easier and faster labor and delivery

Yeah and I am afraid this lil girl is going to be bigger!! At 22 wks she already had chunky legs!!!!   They aren't even building up fat at that point! Even my mfm commented on her chunky legs!

Wow! DS was a scrawny smurf when he was born. They always commented on the length of both boys during my pregnancies. DS1 was 20 inches, which is fairly normal, so I'm not sure why they did that lol. He's a short smurf right now lol. The OB that checked me at the hospital saw him and said, "awww, what is he, almost 2?" and I was like   because most people guess he's just over a year because he's little. I said yeah and she said "What, about 25 pounds?" and I was like uh, yes, 24.5... you're good lol. I carry him around and can't guess his weight lol. Then she was laughing at him and saying she thought we had a little genius on our hands which kind of surprised me because he may very well have an exceptional IQ according to his speech therapist and developmental interventionist. Most people see him and ask if there's something wrong because he doesn't talk. She was only in the room with him for like 3 minutes and was talking to me half the time, but managed to make all those observations. That OB was kind of weird, and I still don't know how to take her lol.

That is crazy! lol Ask her if she reads fortunes too! Yeah he sounds about the same as Peyton in size at his age. She is almost 3.5 and only 30lbs. She barely got to 30lbs in the past few months! Peyton is the opposite with her speech which along with other things makes me think she would do great in pre-k but here it's income or language based which we don't fall into either one! Grrr! We might though with the baby being born! I need to check!

DS is extremely advanced in his motor skills and problem solving but doesn't speak at all and was extremely delayed in his interpersonal skills and social skills. He hated being held or playing with others for a long time. He's just recently started outgrowing that and is now showing interest in playing with me and gives kisses finally, but he usually only gives them if he wants something lol. He sees it as something we want so if he gives us a kiss we'll give him whatever he wants lol. One time my mom was joking and asked him when he was acting up "Do I need to spank your butt mister?" and he turned around and planted a kiss right on her lips XD He's very smart, but most people don't see it because he's so quiet. He tries to say bath and bye bye now and that's it. B words are all we get and they're all "buh" He's very mechanically inclined and likes to see how things work, loves building things and climbing, etc. He signs now but since he learned to sign he refuses to talk more now than he did before. He is becoming vocal the past couple of weeks, but it's just yelling, babbling and squeals for now. Wow, I talk too much.

He will get there! The quiet ones are the ones that sit back and take EVERYTHING in! People are fools to think they are slow because of their lack of communication. Peyton has some very well developed cognitive skills. Her motor skills are pretty good but I would call them average. She tells me stuff at times and I am just shocked she knows what she is talking about. lol Tonight her daddy told her he was the money maker and she told him no and told him I was. He them told her he goes to work every day...no other explanation. She goes, "Oh! I get it now!" lol Goofy kid! She is really good at pick up on things you teach her fairly quickly. The only thing we haven't worked on a lot is letters but I am going to start VERY soon. She learned 6 shapes in like 3 days and remembered them to the point she could point them out. I am just worried she will get lazy in school like I did! It makes me mad we don't qualify for pre-k even with the baby (I just checked). It's not very fair imo.

Exactly!! His therapist is always talking about how observation he is and how you can SEE him thinking lol. Since the day he was born he gets this look on his face like, "wtf?" It's this scrunchy eye brow face, like he's trying to figure everything out. When he was 16 months old I let him have my keys to play with and he sat them down on the floor, looked at each key for a minute, picked up one of the non car keys and walked over to the front door and started trying to put the key in the lock. I was dumb struck. I haven't ever shown him that, no one has. He just pays attention. And we very rarely leave the house with him, so in the one or 2 times a month he sees me unlock the door he figured out that the little silver keys open the front door. Now he knows which key is for our van and which key is for the jeep and he knows the van makes noises when you push the keyless entry button, but the jeep doesn't. It amazes me the things he understands that I would have never thought. He at 19 months old was able to push the home button on my iPhone, unlock it, slide to page 3 and open whichever app he wanted to play with, then close out of it and find a different one when he wanted. And he also understands that you slide my phone side to side to unlock it and Daddy's phone you slide down, because he has an Android. It just amazes me sometimes. I think he knows his colors, but since he won't talk I can't know for sure. If I ask him where blue is he'll push blue on a toy of his that sings the colors. He does green and yellow too.

On a side note I am suddenly having a lot of blood again and some very low pain. Some of it is gooey brown and then there's some bright red and dark red of the same consistency. I wish I knew if I was gonna go into labor so I could just relax one way or the other. And of course we're under a tornado warning right now   haha. DS1 was born with all the sirens going off for tornadoes so it would be fitting

Go have the sex! lol Well I don't imagine your DH would want to with you bleeding! BTW you are due the same day as my SIL! Also it sounds like your son is advanced cognitively as well! His mental skills sound great with the exception of his speech which will come with time!

Pft, my DH cares none about the bleeding lol. He makes it well known (to anyone he even remotely thinks wants to hear it) that you never turn down sex. And he's proven that to me more than once lol. He's sleeping, though   He has work at 6 am and I don't wanna wake him, even though he wouldn't mind, if I don't go into labor and he has to go in lol. I am quite uncomfortable, though. My lower back hurts, I feel like I have to poop and my cervix hurts. Come on, if you're coming, baby!

And thank you   I think he's one smart cookie and get annoyed when people say stuff about him not talking or when they look at hm funny for signing. I usually tell them Einstein didn't talk until he was over the age of 3 and that shuts them up
