Gerber Grow Up Plan

If you have a Gerber Grown Up Plan, is it worth it? Any catches? Is there a better plan out there besides Gerber life insurance? Are there any good savings account plans out there that I should look into as well or just open one up with my bank?

DH & I had a talk the other night and realized that we don't have any kind of savings besides the money in our son's piggy bank (which isn't much) and not much of a plan for a secured future for our family. It got me thinking and I really want to start saving now before it gets too late. We have $6,000 coming next month from taxes and I really want to open an account for our son so we can make sure he can live comfortably in the future. I am looking for any kind of advice, suggestions, or best options. Thanks!
