Psychogenic stuttering
posted 29th Jan
Has anyone else dealt with this in their child?
My three year old had excellent verbal skills and never stuttered. A few months ago, he experienced something very traumatic and since then he has developed this and it's getting worse. He often takes up to 10 seconds to start his sentence and says "Mommy I'm just having so much trouble talking." I talked to a Child Psychiatrist at my job and he has given me advice and resources but I just would like to see if there any other Moms I could talk to about this.

i have not, besides my cousins son, his parents are going through a divorce and as soon as he had two homes, he started stuttering especially the begining of sentences. she wants to take him to see a counsler but her ex is refusing. i guess in their childcare plan they have written that each must agree on medical treatment? i wish i knew more. so i will be watching this topic, good luck with your child
