Teething!

posted 29th Jan
My son is 4 months old now. He is cutting his first tooth and nights have been terrible. I'm eighteen and I'm in my senior year of high school, so waking up every 1-2 hours to try to help him deal with the pain is quite difficult for me and affects my schoolwork. Of course, I always put him first so I do it anyway. Obviously, I'm a first-time mom. Is there anything I can do to help him? I've tried baby orajel and Tyenol. Teething rings aren't very useful at this time because he doesn't know how to grasp the ring and put it in his mouth yet. When we do use them, I have to hold it in his mouth. If you guys have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks,
Lexie

Thank you! You are the second person to say the cold washcloth thing -- I haven't tried it but I'm going to try that tonight.

That's ok, also you can put it in a sandwich bag if your worried about chocking or anything, if bub is old enough for baby food I give my babies biscuits to munch on and rusks. Rusks might be better cause they don't break

My doctor's nurse just told me no tylenol or oragel...she said just sit with your finger in his mouth...yeah I know the feeling...i am still giving him tylenol if he needs it. He can't hold a teething ring either because he doesn't understand toys yet. I also tried momsicles and he screamed his head off...
