How to get SO to agree with cloth diapering..?

posted 29th Jan
I REALLY want to cloth.. but SO keeps saying he won't use them.. So I changed it to just cloth diapering when we're home.. but he still won't get on board. Anyone have my issue? How'd you get them to agree?

Buy them. Throw out all the disposables.
What's he gonna do, let your kid piss and smurf everywhere? Lol.

I mean seriously. Guys need to realize that CDing isn't the end of the world.

I'd probably still do it weather he agreed or not. You'll probably do most of the changing anyways

Hahah JK... kind of.

His reasoning is he doesn't want poop in the washer and he doesn't want to clean them. Ugh.

I told my husband I wanted to get cloth diapers and he doesn't care.. But he kind of just goes with whatever I want to do with the kids anyways lol.. When I think he is going to disagree I make it seem like it was his idea, just be like "Hey remember when you told me to get cloth diapers? I got them and you're right! They are AMAZING!"

And rarely is there poop in my washer. That's what a diaper sprayer is for.

Im in the same position but its an improvement from where he stood on changing diapers a few months ago. He said he would do anything with the baby except change diapers. Now he is all on board for changing diapers but not cloth diapers.

get a diaper sprayer for the toilet from bum genius. they work awesome. as far as poo and pee in the washer... thats going to happen with or with out cloth. think of how many explosive diapers kids have then with potty training? forget it! my best friend has a 4 year old who woke up with a tummy ache a couple weeks ago, her kid crawled in bed with her and she didnt know it, she woke up with the smell of smurf in the air... turned on the light and her bed, pillows and of course her daughter were COVERED in poop. her poor daughter had diarrhea and was so sick she went in her sleep. SO was very on bored with cloth... money saving and chemical free.

Maybe use those biodegradable liners for the cloth diapers? And someone already said use AIO's. If you feel really strongly about it maybe tell him you'll do the majority of the cleaning... Although that does sound kinda smurffy (no pun intended). I regret not using cloth longer. I gave up after little to no support from my family. They kept complaining about the hassles and I just got fed up hearing all the discouragement.

With cloth, go hard or go home.
Disposable liners & inserts aren't that great, and defeats the purpose of saving money by cloth diapering. You just end up spending money on the inserts you're going to throw away.
