re: How to get SO to agree with cloth diapering..?

Worst advice ever,

Fastest way to have a husband who doesn't give a smurf about helping you is to cut him out of the decision making. He has to change diapers too no? Why would he NOT get a say?

If it were me and I wanted to cloth diaper, or not circumsise or whatever else, I would approach him with why I wanted to and discuss it.

smurf's gonna get in your washer no matter if you cloth diaper or use disposable..
until your kid is potty trained but even then when they get the flu..
We as parents are doomed for the rest of our lives..

G diapers have both cloth and disposable liners.

He's hard headed. He obviously doesn't want to. Bring them into the house. Show him how EASY it is. And then he'll have no choice but to put the cloth on the new baby.

Lol seriously. Disposable diapers blow out all the time. Kids have accidents. They're messy nasty creatures haha

I'm just going to do it, heck I'm pretty sure I'm going to be changing the majority of diapers anyway.

Now.. how many to get and what's some good brands? lol We have a few packs of newborn diapers that I already opened, so we won't need newborn cloth..

You have very little faith in your husband, or your husband is a dipsmurf.

I would never make a decision like that on my own, unless I was cool with him being like "it's your kid apparently, you wake up with it".

I guess some people don't want to co-parent. That's cool, spare me the eye rolling smiley.

Quoting L☮J:" With cloth, go hard or go home. Disposable liners & inserts aren't that great, and defeats the purpose ... [snip!] ... the purpose of saving money by cloth diapering. You just end up spending money on the inserts you're going to throw away."

Totally agree!!

I bought disposable liners and they SUCKED (the bamboo ones because i wanted to be all environmentally friendly & make things easier)

They stayed wet against bubs skin & werent even that great, they'd move around in the diaper & not contain everything.

I ended up switching to fleece liners and loved them, i'd just hold it in the toilet, flush (dangling the insert in there).. scrub it out quick in the laundry sink & chuck it in the nappy pail until i'd wash later that night.

Everything comes off them easy and they're comfie on bubs bum.

All I had to say to DH to get him on board was 'we will save money' and he was all for it.

Alvababy!!

I love their colour snap diapers - mainly boyish/unisex colours though.

Double row of snaps - great for chunky thighs/skinny thighs because you can adjust the 2nd row to fit bub perfect.

Double inner leg gussets (stops poop explosions)

And snap in inserts - stops it bunching up/moving around.

Loveeeeed them!

Also have 4 row of snaps to adjust size - so they can fit a newborn/2 week old easily.

Highly recommend them!

Oh and they're SO CHEAP as well!   .. plus free shipping if you buy enough.

I'm still going to keep a small pack of sposies around though, just in case he doesn't jump on the bandwagon with me, so that he will be able to change Jace still.

LOL. You act like we're deciding whether or not to chop a child's arm off or not.
It's cloth diapering. It's better for the baby, the environment, and our wallets.
My husband said the same thing. And now he's grabbing for cloth more than sposies.

Good for you, I use disposable diapers so I don't give a smurf, but if I wanted to do something that he didn't want to, I wouldn't throw away any other option so he had to do it my way. How immature, that doesn't sound like a marriage or relationship I'd want any part of.

If he wanted me to breast feed and tossed out all the formula and bottles I'd loss my smurf. What's the smurfing difference?
