Did you feel contractions in your butt/thighs?

posted 29th Jan
With my first daughter, who was stillborn, I had an all natural delivery. I went from 0-10 incredibly fast. I was still 0 when admitted, after a couple hours of intense labor, my butt and thigh muscles started having contractions. It felt like a constant feeling of muscle failure like when your lifting weights. It took over my entire butt and thighs.

I was freaking out. I'd never heard of contractions in the butt or thighs. Nurses said it was normal, and that "you'd be surprised where you feel contractions." Which made me freak out thinking I would start contracting somewhere else.

I never found out what way she presented. I didn't think to ask at the time if she was face up or down or left or right. I pushed her out through 3 contractions.

If you experienced contractions there, what stage of labor did they start? Do you know how your baby presented?

Never experienced contractions there, but I felt a LOT of pressure with my oldest daughter. I just wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss.

Mine were all in my spine, lower back, hips and close to my butt. I felt like i was being repeatedly stabbed and my hips ripped apart. DS was back to back and it was a long labour.

I did. It started right around 4 cm dilated. He was posterior, but turned during delivery. I pushed for 9 minutes.

My med records said when they pulled dd1 out during the csect "infant girl was restituted 180 degrees". Idk what that means though. I know she was crowning bc everyone could touch her hair before the em csect. I had similar contractions w dd1. I didn't even know I was in labor. I was 40wks exactly when they started. I did a lot of walking so I thought my odd as heck leg cramp sensation was from that. However during the 3rd day I noticed the feeling got closer together and I could time them exactly. They went from day 1 every 4 hrs to day 3 every 2-3 minutes. I ended up calling my Ob after I lost some of my plug and mentioned the leg thing and he said it was contractions that it was time. I had no idea. The nurses said it wasn't uncommon but I had never heard of them like that. I did post on here awhile back and got some rude feedback bc not many people know you can have contractions like that. When I started ptl w dd2 I had those same type of contractions. Aww rip LO sorry for ur loss!

I just started getting contraction these last few nights, and I feel them in the crease of my thighs, and my legs, and butt, I constantly feel like I have to poo too. I wasn't even sure it was a contraction until I got the intense period cramps and my stomach tightened. I thought my legs were just locking up. Sorry for your loss btw.

These felt nothing like the pressure in my perineum and vagina... Im talking about entire butt and thighs down to my knees contracting with every uterine contraction.

It was really weird. The muscles would shake like with muscle failure when working out until the contraction ended.

I was 5 cm. when I went in to be induced, and started having painful contractions about 6-7 cm. I felt contractions in my entire pelvic area. It felt like my pelvic bone was going to break.
