so swollen...

posted 29th Jan
Any mommies have tips for swollen feet??? Both feet and ankles are swollen, but the right foot/ankle is more swollen than the left. The right leg gets tingly every now and then. I do not know what to do besides rest, which I have done a lot of and it just seemed to get worse throughout the day? I know swelling is normal, just hate the tingling feeling in my leg.

When laying down, do you put pillows under your legs if laying on your back, or put pillows between your legs when laying on your side? That helps. Sometimes warm baths helps with the blood flow again. I use a heating bad on my back and it helps my legs, but that may not work for you, its because of my back condition I have. You might try putting you feet up at the end of the couch and laying on your back, the extra height of the arm of the couch maybe high enough..they say above your heart is the best, but for pregnant woman it can be a pain to try and do.

I was super swollen when I was pregnant with my daughter. Nothing helped. Everyone told me to elevate my feet and reduce my salt intake. Iwas still swollen until 3 weeks PP.

have been resting, and keeping my feet up...my son likes to sit on my artery, so I cannot reduce salt intake because my bp drops and I pass out. I will try the bath as soon as my daughter is asleep. I need something, because the tingling leg is getting annoying lol I will try the pillow between my legs when I am on my side. Thank you

Good luck! Lol. I was swollen from 26 weeks all the way until 3 weeks PP. I literally had cankles and sausage fingers the entire time.

I have (so far) had two days of swollen feet. I looked down and I was like "where the hell are my ankles?!" lol. So, my advice...put them up! Sit back and have lots of water, take a bath, and put them up some more. It will go down. Good luck

I hope that it does not continue until after the pregnancy. Running after a toddler and taking care of a newborn with swollen feet cannot be easy lol my fingers have swollen a lot before, but never my feet/ankles. I will put my feet up as much as my toddler allows lol

Yea I have 2 little girls, its not easy to find time to put my feet up. Though if the tingling starts or you cant find your ankles then you know its too much. I have a ton of swelling off and on, but its more being my blood pressure flux so much. Im on limited bed rest so I can only be on my feet for a half hour to 45mins at a time. Last pregnancy the swelling didn't completely go down till I was about 2 to 3 weeks. It just takes your body awhile to reduce it all especially if you have to do a lot of iv fluid.

My right foot does the same thing I lean all my weight to the right though. So I assume that's why. It got so bad once they checked for a blood clot lol. There's really nothing but getting of them and working out circulation.   Sucks when you have kid to tend to.

I hope that the bath I am gonna take after I eat (because my son makes me eat like every hour lol) helps with the swelling. I am barely on my feet unless my daughter needs something, so I do not understand the swelling. But glad I put something on here because I received some good information.

I do hot baths with my leg in the water and my foot above my heart it's a challenge at best lol. But it helps, after I try to have SO rub and squeeze my ankles, every morning I wake up and they're back to normal. By the end of the day They're swollen and I'm on bed rest makes no sense!

I hope I make it to March. I know she needs time just 8 more weeks, but the way the OB talks I won't make it. I hope she will be ready :-s
