Ivy Louisa is here, not all inductions go badly!

Thanks to the lovely weather and the flooding here I was put on the ward on the 27th as doctor thought i may have bub any day. I started having some more spotting and the doctor came to see me and decided she would just break my waters. (I have GD and was showing symptoms of a liver condition aswell) So at 38 weeks on the 28th of january 2013 I went over to the birth suite to have bub monitored for a little bit before breaking my waters everything looked great so we went ahead and had my waters broken   I got up and had a hot shower where my contractions started getting stronger   once out they put the drip in to help the contractions get into a better pattern and to get the medication into me that helps with my bleeding issues. My waters were broken at 12:30pm, drip started at 12:50pm, I asked for the gas and air for pain relief at 1:40 which at the time I felt silly about as It was so early on in the process and with both my boys I went 7 hours after my waters breaking, well so glad i asked for it when i did as at 1:58pm my little girl Ivy Louisa came into this world healthy and happy! 2 weeks early and covered in vernix weighing 3.3kg or 7lb 4 ozs and 51cms long or 20 inches long. She feeds like a champ and is very easy going, we came home yesterday as soon as the flood waters allowed us to drive safely. Our family is now complete and we are all so so happy!

Congrats hun! My induction went perfectly also... it lasted only 36 minutes!!

Tatesmummy - WOWSWERS 36 minutes is insane, I dont think i could have handled all that pain so quick lol I was shocked with how much pain I was in after the hour and a half thinking no way could I be that close lol thats when i asked for the gas for a bit of relief and before I knew it my body was pushing for me lol

I have a high pain tolerance so it wasnt too bad. It was insanely fast though. I was well prepared for this one to go natural. My first child's labor only lasted 1 hr 46 minutes and I was expecting to get the epi and be all relaxed. It was quite a shok to hear that it was too late. Wasnt prepared for that one, the contractions were much harder.
