Adult ADD and Strattera

I'm wondering if anyone has tried Strattera for their adult ADD. My supervisor (a therapist who specializes in ADD) suggested that I give it a try.

Have you tried Concerta? I was on that before I decided to try managing it with out medication and it worked wonders for me with no side effects. I know it was expensive though but it might be something to look into?

Up until now I've been using high doses of EPA to help me. It helps but I still have such a hard time focusing, forgetting things, organizing anything, and with time management... or trying to read materials for my classes. I'm fairly intelligent, but all this organizing and keeping up with stuff for my practicum is killing me. I'm really afraid that I'm not going to be able to keep up. I'm generally anti-pharmaceutical but I think I really may need some help with this. I know about concerta but my sup. thinks strattera would be better.

I know what you mean I was diagnosed ADD at 12 but my parents allowed me to choose if I would like to try medication or not. I chose not to and with some difficulty I managed through most of highschool. Once I hit grade 11 and started failing because of my lack of time management and organizational skills I decided it was best to try medication to see if it helped. I stayed on it until I graduated and now Im trying to manage it with out medication again.

I have never been officially diagnosed. My university counselor asked me if anyone had ever suggested that I had ADD... and my supervisor thinks I do have it. She spent a long time talking to me about it. I've suspected it for awhile and looking back on my childhood, it is pretty apparent. My mom was always telling me to get my head out of my butt and griping about my dirty room that I never seemed to notice unless she said something to me.
My affinity for disorganization has also been a source of turmoil between my husband and me.
