Couch to 5k!!

posted 29th Jan
Okay so Couch to 5K is an app where it trains you from going from a couch potato to a 5k runner....its 8 weeks i believe anyways i DID it....I not only hated running with a passion BUT i couldn't run it was hard to breathe i was totally out of shape (even though i am semi-skinny) I lost 5 pounds and inches everywhere! I still want to loose a few more pounds. I am 5'4" and weighed 139 and now weigh 134 hoping to get to 127 my pre-preg weight. Anyways my ramble is try it out I really suggest it! I now like to run...and never did i ever think i would say that.

Were you the one who told me about it this morning? I found a program called the same thing on Pintrest and started at week two. I have 114 days to get ready.

Oh ok, I have never heard about it until today when someone came into my thread about my first 5k and told me about it. This is the second time today I've heard about this

It wasn't really hard and this is coming from a person who could not run 2 minutes straight. It starts out slow and each week increases time intervals between walking and jogging. I literally hadn't 'worked out' in at least 8 years. I was NEVER a runner. I just can't believe i can run now. Once it gets to like week 5 i started doubting myself and i even felt like quitting but i just kept telling myself i could do it and to my shock i did it. If i can do it anyone can LITERALLY!

Seriously awesome i'm so excited to be running and more importantly i feel healthy. I really want to keep up running at least 3 times if not 4 times a week.

Oh and there's 2 free versions of the app i just bought the actual couch to 5k app (it was only $2 and best $2 i ever spent at that!) but my friend has the free one and she says it's just as good.

I'm doing mine on the elliptical because my knee is messed up but once the weather is better I will be moving outside. It definitely kicks my ass (I was 247 lbs when I started it) but it feels great to see what I am actually capable of

Keep going and great job! You have to start somewhere right? My step dad started working out and felt really discouraged i told him he was doing more then the person laying on the couch
