Huggies are the only ones that don't give dd a rash but they make her smell bad (it smells like we don't clean her down there even though we do) but they don't leak or anything.
So far I have used Pampers and Huggies newborns. I love the design of the Huggies but the durability of the pampers. However they are the only two brands I have tried thus far.
I have tried pampers, up &up (from target), parents choice (wal mart), and huggies. I like huggies best for my son. they feel more substantial and he never has leaks. The generic ones always felt thinner and less absorbent to me.
With my oldest we could only use Pampers Cruisers until he was 18 months old. With my baby the only diapers that did not give him a rash were Parent's Choice from Wal-Mart which I had a lot of reservations about using at first since I despise their wipes. Well it is the only thing that works for him.
Huggies- leaked with both my kids and give them rashes
Luvs- (only tried with baby) gave him a rash and leaked
Pampers- leaked with my oldest but he was the king of poopy diapers and I don't think anything would have contained it, and it was the only brand that he could use.
Parent's Choice- Only have had one leaking diaper with my baby since we started using them and about 5 diapers out of a pack with my oldest during over-night when he pee's multiple times.
You just need to see what works and doesn't give your baby a rash. If you are on a budget try the cheap brands. If not start with what ever you feel like.
It really just depends on your individual baby. At different times in DDs life, one diaper would work better than another and then that diaper wouldnt work as well as a different one just out of the blue.
