Meat

Where do you buy your meats/fish at? Do you normally buy a lot at a time? Just curious because I plan on buying it in bulk when I get my tax money back. How much do you usually spend and how often does it last you?

We buy based on the week but usually big packs so we have extra in the freezer for following weeks. We haven't been buying it much lately though because of how expensive it is. When we had meat every meal we spent $100+ a week for DH, myself, and our toddler since the baby is only 6 months. Since we stopped buying meat for every meal we spend $50 or less a week.

As for where, I buy meat at the grocery store when I do the rest of my shopping.

We use a local farmer. We bought a quarter pig for $75 and had it butchered for about $50. It lasts us like 6 mos or so.

My family goes in and buys a cow. 1600.00 for half a cow, then we just all take the cuts that we want. ETA: Lasts each home (4) a year.

We've been just buying what we need at the store. But my dad knows a man where we can buy a cow. They used to and it would last at least a year. So we're going to start doing that. To get half a cow and it cut up its right at $1000. We're gonna do that and buy a deep freezer for it.
