I have worked in a vet hospital for 10 years male cats do not need pain meds or antibiotics after being neutered. He will be fine and he will act like nothing ever happened once the anesthesia wears off.

That's just crazy to me. Every clinic I've talked to says they will prescribe pain killers, as well as antibiotics.

Did you go to a shelter/clinic or a vets office?

If it is that fast, I shouldn't have to wait long to pick him up them? I have to drive kind of far away to the care center and I don't want to drive all the way home and all the way back out since we have to borrow my moms van to even make the tripp (our car sucks, our good one is in the shop)..so we were just going to try to hang around until we could pick him up.

My cats came home with nothing. Just them nutless selves.

why would they need antibiotics if there is no infection?

I figure they're just cutting off balls, kinda, so they just have an open wound? Now I feel like I gotta look a bit further before getting our Kitty neutered next month. Whoops

The places I've talked to, they keep him overnight. But I guess that's because they take extra care of the cat, IDK.

Even the clinics keep the cats overnight. A local page posted that they were having a low-cost neuter/spay thing going on, and it said to drop the cat off at 7:30-8am, and pick them up the next day by 10am.
