ATT Uverse internet.. ?

If you have it, do you need the phone line for it to work? We had regular ATT DSL up until last week and we were required to have the phone line for it to work.. but if that's not the case anymore than I'm just going to cancel it. lol I just figured I'd see if anyone knew before I sit on the phone with ATT for 40943902349 hours.
