I know right? But it didn't even work this time around so I'm back just to getting more vit D and more magnesium but my doctor didn't listen to that is what I THOUGHT was the problem. They wouldn't even test for either of them

Reread what I said, or smurf off.
I meant she should make sure that the meds aren't helping AT all before stopping them. To make sure she consulted with doctors instead of trying to wean her child herself, and to get a second opinion and look for alternatives or other ways to taken care of her daughter's medical issues. If she keeps looking, she can find a doctor who will help her wean her daughter down, and offer other alternatives.

How the hell is that not logical to you? Or did you see her take offense, where none was meant, and just ASSume that I was being rude and respond to it?

no you werent offering advice.. and yes i just read an article about it and they said the reason it wont Fund, is because the profit.. plain and simple.. it costs 100milliion dollars to make a drug a sellable and no one wnats to fund it, since they wont make money..did you read up more on it? it really is that simple.. a drug that shrunk cancerous tumors 4 times smaller in a matter of weeks? it would save people.. no dying people = no money for pharms.

Yes. I WAS offering advice. You think I'd respond in your thread for the hell of it? Really? It was advice, whether it's the advice you wanted or not.
But since you didn't like what I had to say, you played the victim. *shrug*

im lucky in the fact that my daughter seizures arent tonic clonics. absence seizures, so she usually doesnt fall or lose concciosness.

My daughter has a higher risk for just not waking up in the morning too. its scary. SED is like SIDS for people with Epilepsy. Its scary.. I google about her chromosome issue and it talks about cancers and other things which is worrisome for us becuase she is full of bruises and getting bloody noses and we are waiting on some results of another blood test since her CBC was off. I told people on FB it was normal. but it wasnt. My mom is convinced my daughter is very sick and im trying not worry her.

deep down I feel like I wont get to know her because she wont live long enough.. its terrible.. I think about it everyday.. it makes me so sad.

And ummm did you read what I posted? Obviously not. You said to make sure it wasn't the meds. I'm sure after going through med after med and still seeing your kid suffer you know the meds are not helping as intended.

Yeah it's a very real risk. I have a brother and a daughter with epilepsy.

Op you could discuss with your dr the possibility of trying the ketone diet, this is one if the only "natural" remedies that has been proven to work for some types if epilepsy, however not all people are good candidates and as I said said going off meds is often times life threatening especially for those whose epilepsy is not well controlled even with meds.

Not helping as intended =\= not helping at all.

The meds couldn't be doing something so minimal, that it wouldn't be noticed until her being weaned off. they may not be working as well as hoped for, but it doesn't mean they're doing nothing but making the kid worse.

How does that not make sense to you? Like, does it ACTUALLY not make sense? Really? Or are you just that stupid?

Example, for the slow learners. My dad has cancer, along with a ton of other issues. One of his meds makes him sick as smurf. Every time he's "fine" and goes off of it, he winds up in the hospital.
His pain meds, he hates. They make him groggy. So he chooses to go without them, because the pain is bearable.
On the other hand, the pain is bearable unless he's up and doing things. So as a result, he's not on pain meds, but can't move around much. Which means more swelling and leg/foot issues, which means more meds.

There are pros and cons, whether you'd like to acknowledge it or not.

And I'm sure if weaned off of the meds and they were making a difference she would have her put back on them. I'm sure she isn't that mother that just doesn't give a smurf.

This is exactly. Just because they haven't completely irraticated the seizures doesn't mean they aren't controlling them or making them less severe.

There's a trade off here, her drs would not have her on meds if there was not. yes it sucks and it's hard and I'd never wish this on anyone but its the crsppy hand you're dealt, no choice but to play em regardless. Unfortunately such is life.

When did I say she was? Or insinuate it? Like, seriously, show me. Or copy and paste the parts that you had trouble with and I'll help you sound them out.

Idiot.
