Pink Eye :(

posted 8th Jun
I think Corben might have pink eye...His right eye keeps gooping up and it's driving me nuts!! I've already called the doctor and made an appointment, but I feel like a horrible Mom because I took him out the other day and now he's got this infection and I feel so so bad...On top of that he's colic and was screaming all night last night and kept spitting up...Thankfully we had some soy formula and he's calmed down, but it's so overwhelming and I feel like I can't take it anymore! And Medicaid stinks because his ID number hasn't kicked in yet, so we have to pay out of pocket for his doctors visits and it's just adding to the stress...Sorry I just had to vent I feel so tired and pooped out and I just keep wondering when is it all going to end??? I love my baby and he's such a blessing but my God there is nothing anyone can tell you or anything you can do to prepare for a baby...Anyways just had to let it out thanks ladies...

Try gripe water for colic.  It's a miracle worker.  Helps tummy problems SO well.  You can find it at walmart, walgreens, rite aid, etc.

Pink eye will get better.  Nothing you can do to prevent it.

Are you sure its pink eye though? Does his eye look irritated? You are not a horrible mother though. I was too afraid to cut Lorelai's nails when she was little and she cut her ear and it bled. I felt horrible about that too. I think someone with pink eye has to touch him for him to get it. I don't think its airborne...I could be wrong. I hope he feels better!

does he have a cold or has had one recently???

Both Piper & Elliot will have yellow gunk come out of their eyes if they are sick. the first time it happened to Elliot at school, they sent him home for having Pink eye. It turned out he had a cold and it was working itself out of his system. for them it's very similar to a runny nose.

it could be a clogged tear duct. Maddox had one and i thought it was pink eye so i took him to the doctor, they gave me cream and told me to massage it. i guess its really common and could take like 6 months to fully unclogg.

is it like yellowish green goo?

It could just be a clogged tear duct.  I don't know if babies that little can get pink eye.  If his eye isn't red, it is probably a clogged duct.  It is very common in newborns and should correct itself.  that is more than likely what it is.

Yeah it's yellowish in color, so if that's the case then I'll feel a whole lot better because if it were pink eye I would feel crappy!

Yeah my baby's left eye was always getting goop in it when he was a lot younger. He is approaching 4 mths now & its not near as bad as it use to be. I think it also had to do something with his tear duct. And time to time, the goop in the corner of his eye will be yellowish/green in color.
