Spaying Question.

Will getting spayed cut down on my cat's desire to go outside? I've heard that they don't feel as strong a need to go travel the neighborhood, but I'm not sure how true that is.

She's actually quite content to stay in on most days, but she still has one or two days where she cries until we let her out. And no, she's not in heat, she just used to be an outdoor cat.

why don't you just let her in and out?

..depends on the cat. but from what I have seen. NO it doesn't cut down ont hem wanting to go outside and roam. Mhy male cat was/is fixed and he has been missing for almost a year now. I like to think he found a new home......
my female cat is fixed and she always wants out, she is an inside kitty

My cat is getting more and more content to stay in or just watch the world from the front door, but sometimes she just HAS to go out.

I usually do. We've had some crazy weather the last week though and she demands to go out when it's at its worse. I'm actually more worried about the days after surgery though. She likes to hang out under the neighbor's shed and there's no telling what kind of nastiness is under there

my cat hid under the couch the days after surgery.

Is there a good chance that she just won't feel like going out?
I hate to deny her the time outside. She's never really been an indoor cat, so I know it's probably a desperate need for her to go outside. I just don't want her to get an infection from going out, but at the same time I don't want to stress her out by not letting her go. KWIM?

she probably won't get an infection, they staple them up really well.

I really hope so we just made an apt. to have my cat spayed on the 12th. I'm tired of the whaling and peeing  

I spayed my first cat and she did not like it, she ran out of the house and she never returned. For me it was a terrible experience.
