Ow..

Well I got my period for the first time, feels like my uterus is farting flames and double edged swords. All I want is chocolate covered popcorn, wine, sex and to chain smoke. o-o Oh I missed these days!
Anyway, I was looking into birth control finally. And my friend told me about the depo shot, and she told me about how it gives you a period for one day? Is that true?
Birth control really makes me nervous, so I'm just having a hard time deciding. Halp?

I didn't have a period at all when on the depo.

I was on depo shot for a year. The first six months, no period at all. BUT the second 6 months I bled EVERY single day. It also is known to cause fertility problems for women who want to TTC after getting off of it.
I do not recommend the depo AT ALL.

i would never get the depo...and i would never get the mirena (from experience)...I've been on yasmin (pills)..and i've been fine..

OH! And I gained 20 lbs for NO reason. The doctor told me I may gain 4 lbs in a year. I gained 20. And I was 16 with no change in diet or excersize. And when I got off of it, lost all that weight still with no change in diet or excersize.

Depo turned me into Satan's spawn, I was seriously evil. It made me gain weight and I had a 3month long period before I decided to get off of it. The daily bleeding continued for over a month after my last shot was due.

I'd never recommend it, if you have bad dude effects it takes 3-5months for the shot to be completely out of your system.


If you're not bfing I'd recommend the nuvaring, if you are the only bc pill you can usually do is the mini pill.
