Drop in daycares

posted 29th Jan
Does anyone use drop in daycares ever? We have one in our town but we've never used it. We had to today because DH is training at work (he usually has monday - thursdays off while I'm at work) and we couldn't find a baby sitter on short notice. It's a one time $25 membership fee and $7.50 an hour. I didn't get to go look at it but DH said it looked pretty nice and thinks LO will have fun. I was just wondering if anyone ever uses one and have you found them to be alright or bad or what? I know they're each different, lol.

Here's the link to their website if you're bored and wanted to take a look. It seems nice and well put together. I only found one review online but it was at least a good review!

They even give you a discount if you go to a movie and bring back your movie stub! If it works out, DH and I will be utilizing it!

I haven't used one yet but i'm considering it, i have appointments and no childcare so it might be using one 3 hours a week. It could be just as beneficial as a babysitter, since the kids would have new toys and other kids to play with.

That's what I think! He's only had a very small amount of day care experience. Only 2 hrs at a time at my gym while I work out. So, at least he knows what daycare means, lol. I'm worried about him letting someone know if he has to go potty though. I'm trying not to worry too much since these people deal with potty training toddlers often, lol. DH is worried about him going potty and walking out with his thingy hanging out because he can't pull his pants up yet, lol. He thinks some parent will end up suing us or something...

We have like a free one. But it is like 35 minutes from my house and work. So I obviously don't use it. Plus you have to call first thing in the morning to see if they have any openings. First come (or call I guess), first serve type thing.

I worried about them filling up, the website says they can only have 40 children at a time but that they usually only have 15 at any given time. They didn't say to call ahead or anything. I'll know a bit more about it when I get a chance to talk to DH after work this evening.

Looks like such a fun place to go and I wish we had something like this near home for him! He'll be going off to preschool soon, but this is cool. Indoor play area and a big screen TV and rock wall? How cool is that

It does look nice from the website! DH said they're about to move locations though. Which kind of sucks because it's literally like 2 miles from our house. It is in a weird location though and I could see why they would want to move. It's a "safe" area, but our whole town is pretty safe for the most part. I'm glad we moved here. Except the traffic, lol.

How far are they going to move it from your home?

Hoping it's not too far from home. Like I said, I wish they had something like that here for Christopher. He'd love it, I'm sure.

Yeah, I hope they don't move it too far, we'll see. DH is picking LO up right now so I told him to call me and tell me how it went.

I just talked to him. He said everything was great! LO was watching Diego when he picked him up, lol. And they're not moving much farther away. It's pretty much the same distance from our house. It's actually right by my fav sushi place, mmmm.

So wonderful to hear things went well and they're not going far at all

What about the potty thing? How did that work out not being at home?
