Mmmm I have to disagree. I think bullying roots from something parents either allowed to happen or did themselves. If parents shouldn't be responsible for the children when bullying that's kinda like saying they don't have to be responsible for everything their child does, when, IMO, they are 100% responsible for everything and anything a child does until they are 18. But I can see why you'd think that.

No, I don't think they should be charged. It's not anyone elses fault that the person who commited suscide has mental issues.. they took their own life, no one took it from them.

It's not fair to charge a teenager for the death of someone else they did not kill. They are kids, they will most likely grow up and learn better. It wouldn't be fair to ruin their whole life with a serious criminal record because someone else made the CHOICE to kill themselves.

I do feel bad for the teens that get bullied and it is wrong that they have to go through that but in the end it is them and them alone who make the choice to end their life, no one else should be held responsible for someone elses personal choice.

Bullying is abuse.
You don't think that a person should feel responsible for abusing another person to the point that they decided they'd rather be dead than deal with it any longer? It's not their fault at all? As someone who grew up in a verbally abusive household, I can tell you that I probably wouldn't have any of the issues I have right now if I didn't have a bullying, abusive parent who made sure I knew was nothing. He made me want to die. He made me feel like I had no other way out of the situation because I didn't have anyone who cared to help me. They thought it wasn't that "serious" and it was something I would just get over.

When someone takes their life, it stops being a "kids being kids" scenario. Kids are not oblivious to right and wrong. Most people who bully someone to THAT extent are not just going to grow out of their bullying behaviors. They will grow up to be adult bullies, most likely toward their spouse and child(ren). I mean they might not have physically killed the person, but they certainly ruined their life, as well as the life of the family members who are left behind. They should feel horribly guilty and responsible in my opinion.

Lets take Amanda Todd for example.. SHE made the choice to put her breasts on the internet, no one held her down and took them for her.. SHE did it, 100 percent her own fault.

SHE made the choice to share those private pictures, again 100 percent her own fault.

What goes on the internet is there to stay. We've all been to high school and we all know that girls who do such things are labelled "sluts" I have had it happen to me, I've had a friend do the same as Amanda and put pictures of her breast on the net.. she was labelled the same.

She was picked on for a choice SHE made. It's sad that the bullies were so hard on her, it is.. but it's not like they were lying about what they said.. she really did put pictures of herself on the internet, the bullies were stating facts not assumtions in that regard.

In the end.. She couldn't handle the coinsequences of her OWN actions and made the choice HERSELF to kill herself.. SHE took her OWN life, no one else took it from her. No one else she be punished for HER choices.

Don't get me wrong, she was a beautiful girl and I feel so, so bad for her and all she went through. If only I could have been her friend, someone to love her and let her know how beautiful she was.. but still, in the end it is no one elses fault but her own that she post those pictures and killed herself over them.

I don't think bullies have the intent to kill.. they lack something themselves, but they can't control what the person being bullied does. Some people who are bullied, go on killing sprees and kill others.. should the bullies be held responisible? Hell no, they didn't pull the trigger, they didn't plan the kill.. the other person did and should be the only one to pay.

I think that logic is a bit flawed.

OMG that's exactly how I felt about it, but every one else was like "omg poor girl, how could they do that, blah blah blah" IT IS sad, but like you stated she made choices that led to that. She wasn't like others who just get bullied for their weight, or skin color, or popularity level. Those are the bullies that should be punished severely, but back to Amanda's case, that girl was just not well equipped to handle stress.

While agree that this girl needed to take responsibility the other girls just could not let it go. They went out of their way to humiliate her. That is wrong. Sure things like being called a slut are going to happen. But to make websites and constantly call and further distribute the picture was just wrong. Do it once. Don't repeatedly do it.

See I can agree if it was just this. But they did more than just that.

But it all boils down to HER making those choices. Had SHE not posted those pictures, none of it would have happened.. had she not slept with another girls boyfriend, she wouldn't have been beat up.

We live in a world where one must take responsiblity for thier own actions. She mad the choices and couldn't handle what was to come. She could have dealt with it another way but she chose to kill herself. She took her own life, no one else took it. So I don't see the logic with charging other teens for someone elses choices. The bullies didn't take the pictures, the bullies were not the first to post them on the net (Amanda was), the bullies didn't kill her, she killed herself.. that was all her.. no one else should be charged with her death.

I dont agree with her taking her life but I think those teens should be charged with harassment and the distributing child porn. Even after she moved they kept on. It was excessive. Whatever happend to saying. "well the bitch is gone. Good" or something like that and considering it battle won.?

and it's the same with people who are bullied and go on to kill others in mass shooting. The bullies did not plan that out, they didn't kill anyone. Just because someone is bullied it does not give them the right to kill other people or do any other very stupid things.
