Quoting ashley + 2:" Is there anyway to break a fever quicker or is it just a wait it out thing? My daughter has the flu and ... [snip!] ... Just hoping she starts feeling better soon. I've been letting her fever pretty much go so it can help her fight off this crap."
Skin to skin. The old cool bath recommendation is actually bad for fevers. Making their bodies cooler confuses the immune response and can raise the fever. Skin to skin will help them regulate their temperature to yours. That being said, fevers are your friend! I understand how you feel though, it's sad watching them suffer! Unless they are seriously uncomfortable I don't ever like to treat fevers. Even with a virus that is typically unaffected by a fever, I don't want to interfere with their immune system and potentially inhibit their future immune responses.
