pp hypertension (bp)

Is anyone else having bp issues postpartum?
I was diagnosed with gestational hypertension at 35 weeks and was put on labetalol and as expected in the 5 days after labour my BP went nuts but I was told that I'd be off the meds 6 weeks after delivery and 2 months on... Still on the meds! I had them reduced from 200mg twice a day to 100mg twice a day and then to 50mg but then my bp went up so went back on 100mg and bp went up again so back on 200mg  
I just hope that it regulates at some point but I'd rather be on the meds than in danger.
