Weaning question
posted 29th Jan
DD is 11 months old and nurses 4 times a day. I am planning on returning to work in March and I am looking into weaning out the two mid day nursing sessions. I want to keep morning and bedtime for now. I love breastfeeding. However, I find pumping extrememly annoying so if I can cut out the two times a day that I would be at work that would work. So how do I do it? I know she needs something else in there. I have been trying to introduce milk but she has no interest nor does she use a sippy cup yet. I would like to go from boob to cup instead of bottle.....but at a loss if she is not taking the sippy cup( I may have to go bottle).

I would just try as many different sippy cups as it takes ...I would not even go to a bottle.

Have you tried the silicone tip sippies instead of hard ones? DS kind of weened himself. Start out by pumping & putting it in the cup (or if you give her apple juice or water yet, put it in the cup) Give her cups of breast milk or watered down cows milk with her meals. Help her drink while she's sitting up & encourage her to do it by herself!
