Naptime tips with infant pls!

DD is 7 weeks & literally can NOT nap anywheres but in someone's arms. At night she sleeps in a swing & is absolutely fine but during the day if I try to put her in it, she's awake within 5 minutes. After her cold passes we're going to be moving her to the playpen at night. I'd like to try to get her to sleep in her crib for naps as the playpen is downstairs in our bedroom. What can I do to encourage her to sleep alone in her crib for naptime??

That's normal. They are born with only 25% of their brain and rely on you for everything, they need the sensory stimulation and regulation for safety and optimal development, that is why they crave being held. Put her in a wrap, or nap with her and cosleep

Don't rush in for every little peep. Keep trying everyday to get her to sleep in her bed. She will eventually get used to it.

When Dean was in nicu, 1st couple weeks, no 1 could hold him, the nurses would roll like 3 recieving blankets so it looked like a noodle, and they would put 1 on each of his sides, under him so the rolls would kinda cuddle/ hold him... 3rd roll would go under his knees
I did it with my other 2 babies as newborns, they all loved out, til they started trying to turn over, but by then they are older, my kids gave up the cuddling and wanted to be nosey nosey lol

Thanks ladies! It's definitely something we're going to have to work on. Right now I have the drapes down, the fan going for white noise like our room, she's swaddled & currently on the boob . Her eyes are rolling around now haha!! Ill definitely try the noodle thing too

My daughter always had to be held for naps. I only got her to take naps in her crib when she was like 8 months. She would sometimes nap in the swing or on the couch with her favorite blanket. I know it's a bad habit but I put her to sleep with a bottle. You could try a pacifier.

Oooh boy! The crib was ok.. She slept maybe 45 minutes (usually naps a couple hours at a stretch)
I have her in her "burrito" (wrap) as my husband calls it lol. She's in her swing.. Hopefully she'll sleep her regular few hours without having to be in my arms. It just sucks when you face housework to do, or a sick child to also tend to
