I am trying to decide what to do for my daughters birthday in April...
her theme is mermaids..
but Im still unsure what to do...

In April in Alaska its break up, so its slushy and still kinda cold... so outside is not an option :/
I only have a couple kids that we know.. so its not too big

so heres what I have..

1. Go to Mcdonalds, bring a banner, a few balloons, a super cute sand castle cake, party favors and just let the kids play on the play place and everyone buy their own food

2. Go to the bowling alley on post (everyone invited is military), do the same as Mcdonalds.. just at the bowling alley and maybe order pizza? (shes never been bowling)

3. Go to the bounce place and pay like 250 for 3 hours (ugh), and then same as above

4. Rent the conference room on post that has a playground outside of it, and do the same..lol (and i think you can rent a bounce house in there too not sure)

5. Just do it at home... go all out, do the sea themed foods and decorate all cute. play pin the fin on the mermaid, have mermaid movies on, etc


afterwards Ill probably have the parents of some kids come to my house for an after adult party lol..

Either conference room or at home (if you've got the room.)

I would do it at home.

We are having this problem but at the other end of the scale. My sons is in the middle of June..in Texas lol Its always so freaking hot and its awful. We've tried to have it at our house twice but its just too small for that many people. Then we tried at our In laws but my family wasnt comfortable there. So Ive said smurf it and we're doing it at our local jump place. It will be about 300 but thast for up to 25 kids, they provide the food drinks and settings. I'd rather just have to show up with a cake rather then worry about it anymore lol

We did LO's party here at our apartment complex's rental room and just did a few cheap decorations. The kids had so much fun just playing together.

yeah back home in april its perfect.. i do it at my aunts and rent out bounce houses..

or if i had enough kids id do it at the bounce house but here i have maybe 5 kids??! and the 250-300 is for up to 15.. i dont wanna waste that for just 5 kids.

and last year she didnt have anything.. well kidna
we went to anchorage (6 hrs away) and took her to build a bear and chuck e cheese

and i filled the hotel room with tons of balloons


and her 2nd bday

i mean i go all out :|

I debated same exact thing But ended up going with the bouncy place becaus I really didn't want to end up having to worry about planning and cleaning up/cooking etc especially with infant plus I'd have 11 kids and my pplace isn't big enough. The whole McDonald's thing, well I went to a bday party there and it just didn't feel like bday party like at all so even though I didn't want to dish out 300...I thought it was best choice. Maybe do bowling for u because u only have 5 kids that sounds fun and my kid went once and she always talks about it and asks to go.

Do you have a hotel with a pool close by? Cuz i would think swimming with the little mermaid theme would be PERFECT!
