so just give them surgery cause with out any thing cause babies dont feel pain right..so your telling me if you had a baby right now that had to be taken away 2 mins after being born cause there was something wrong with the heart where they had to do surgery you wouldnt put the baby out to not feel the pain

There's a major different in life saving heart surgery and a cosmetic procedure on a newborn baby. Their are deaths every year from circumcision and general anesthesia on those tiny babies, a lot of people would avoid that at all costs rather than pay for it to be done.

What are you talking about?

I'm talking about circumcision in response to your post.
I wouldn't sign up for it at all.

And I would only have them put my child under for life saving procedures, not cosmetic ones.

There's nothing wrong with breastfeeding after two. As long as mom and child are comfortable with it.
Ear piercing is definitely not more okay than breastfeeding past two.
And eh, I really have no opinion on pacis, they weren't used much around here.

Agree, there is a massive difference between a medical procedure and a cosmetic one. Circumcision is a cosmetic one, nothing more. They have got to inform you the procedure is nothing more than a cosmetic procedure prior to doing it yet some Mothers are quite happy to put their newborn through it.

There are no real benefits though (circumcision). That's why you should always, always research what they tell you.

I think if you requested your child's medical records you would find your newborn was not "put under". They don't do that for circ in babies that young, ever. That is reserved for later circs because the risks of putting a newborn under anesthesia for en elective procedure is not something any qualified Dr would agree to. In the most aggressive of pain controls for newborns they apply emla cream & then do a penile nerve block. A baby sleeping heavily upon return is typical & often related to what is called the shutdown reflex & happens when pain or trauma is too severe. It is not associated with a newborn undergoing being "put under", except by their own psyche. You can watch it actually happen in this video - you can see the baby stops crying, but is clearly still panting & struggling:
Be prepared to see a circ though & one with no pain pain meds where the baby stops screaming mid scream & starts shutting down.

So you say it wasn't made clear to you that it is a cosmetic procedure only when it should have been and by the comments he either lied about putting your child under or put him under for a cosmetic procedure which really isn't allowed? Wow sounds like you were really misled.

When it comes to procedures that are performed on my newborn child I wouldn't be just blindly for or against it I'd want to know everything about it.
