Question about baby clothes please help!

posted 29th Jan
So today I went out and bought a good bit of clothes, as the finish up of my baby clothes purchase, I just realized I didn't get any 0-3 months like I thought, I bought all 3months and up :/. Well my question is, I looked at some of the other clothes that I have for my son, and well some of my newborn items are the same size comparison/back to back as what the 3 months I bought....so is there a possibility that the clothes are made smaller by the factory that they just say 3 months? I know you won't know for sure, but I am wondering is this even possible? I really thought I was done clothes shopping :/ considering I am on a budget but if not then damn...I guess I will have to wait until he gets here to buy more. Or better yet have any of your LO's been born really small but could fit either newborn's or 3 months depending on how they were made??? TIA

Every company sizes things different. So yes its possible. DS didnt wear newborn clothes because he was too big(9lbs 15oz at birth) but there were 1 or 2 newborn onsies that he could fit in because they were made bigger. He wears 6-9 month now but some 3-6 onsies still fit him.

Just depends on the company.

Depends on the company.

But, my son... at full term, weighed 6lbs 2oz... he was so tiny by the time we left the hospital at 5lbs 7ozs, he fit in premie clothes.

Oh goodness! Thank heavens!!!!! I know it's not guaranteed, I didn't buy but a few newborn pieces as everyone says they grow out of them so fast. I am hoping these will work. So thank you for your response this is a little stress reliever! Now I just have to pick out the few outfits I want to take to the hospital to choose from!

I actually found if the tag said just 3 months or 6 months that that was the ending size...if it says 3-6 obviously you know what that is. When the tag said 3 months it was a 0-3 month fit. Price Tags should have a height and weight on them from most companies.

I was in the same boat as Silas Mama. My son was born straight in to 0-3 months and practically nothing newborn fit him. He was 9lbs 8oz. Circo is a brand that fit big.

I bought no premies at all O.O I just thought with the size that his daddy was, will make it possible that there is no chance he'd be that small. But I won't know until his birthday

I for some reason expected my son to be 7-8 lbs.. So I only brought 0-3 month old clothes to the hospital with me for his Hospital pictures.
He just looked like he was in a blanket, and a hat in his pictures. hhahahaha. Was so funny.

Newborn can be the same but usually only goes up to 8.5lbs

Just like our jeans some brands are smaller/bigger than others. I hear a lot of babies don't even wear newborns because they're already too big. So if you have some 3+ running small you should be fine. If you're on a budget thrift store some newborn stuff just for when he's born.
