Birth control
posted 28th Jan
I have my 6 week pp check up on Wednesday and I have no idea what birth control to get. I do not want the pill, I was on it when I got pregnant with my first and I'm bad at remembering to take it. I was getting the depo shot after my first was born and I liked it, but I gained weight and I am currently trying to lose a significant amount of weight.
I guess my question here is, what birth control do you prefer and what are the pros and cons of it? Tell me about where it goes and how it works. (I don't know much about any of the birth control methods besides the pill and the shot, so enlighten me)

The Paragard is nice. It's non-hormonal and it's an IUD. It causes heavier periods, but aside from that, I can't complain. BUT, it's time to get it out. I am ready for another kid haha

Can it fall out? Does it hurt to get put in? How long do you have it in for?

I am on the Paragard IUD right now and haven't really had any side effects since I got it in September. However, I have spent most of the 4 1/2 months that I have had it bleeding so I am actually getting it removed next week. If it wasn't for the bleeding issue I would not be getting rid of it.

I'm on depo, been on it for a year.
I like it for the most part, no weight gain, no period.
But I do have occasional break outs, mood swings, and fatigue.
Buttt, it works.

Before I got pregnant I was on the evra patch. Put it on once a week and it stays there. The only thing I didn't like was you had to rotate where on your body you put and it leaves a little bit of stickiness behind (like a band aid) when you take it off.

I really don't want something inserted into me lol so I will probably go with the depo shot again. I just wanted to know more about the others before I make a final decision

i have the implanon/nexplanon in my arm and i love it. it lasts 3 years. it didnt hurt to get it in but im scared to get it out lol. i dont even know its there most of the time. i still get random periods with it....like every other month. some stop their period all together. but i get period cramps even if i dont bleed.

I loved the nuvaring. I was highly allergic to it though.

Had paragard, hated it i also got pregnant on it due to.the fact it fell out. I have the nexplanon now and hate it. Im getting sterilized march 4, the essure, and thats my plan.
But if id get another BC, it would probably be the patch since its everyweek and i dont have to insert it into my vag.
