2nd Baby Babyshower?
posted 28th Jan
Did you have one if the sex of the baby was the same?
I wasn't going to have one but my friends want to throw one. I feel a little weird but the truth is i donated all of DD's stuff to charity anyway so i actually don't have any infant stuff anymore.

My cousin had one, she has two boys, I'm pretty sure I'd do the same if I have another boy, since I have donated all of DS clothes "/

If they're offering to throw it, why not.

Yup. It's pretty much unthinkable in my family to not have one with every pregnancy.

I had one with my second and I'm gona have one with this baby as well. My friend at work told me today that if I wanted it or not I was having a baby shower lol made me feel really good to. It'll be the first time I didn't throw my own shower. I even made the cakes for both.

I did . My girls will be 8 years apart but I probably would have still have one with a smaller age gap.

my family has a rule of thumb you only get one unless they are more than 4-5 years apart cause by then most the stuff will be donated or recalled anyway...at least that is how my family thinks plus they always bring more gifts once the baby is born like an outfit or something, so I would say if your friends want to do one, then let them and be totally grateful and enjoy it, second hand shops are awesome these days I want my babies to be like two years apart to three years apart so my family wont throw me another shower so if i end up having another one when i want and its a girl I would have to buy my own stuff....good luck!

Thats a stupid rule. If you want one you have one. Period. There is nothing wrong with that. Are you making it for you and your baby or to make everyone happy by not having one?

I'm in the same boat! I had one with my first DD, but not with my second DD and now I'm having a boy and everyone is pushing for one and I just don't know how I feel about it. I could use one because I have a TON of little stuff I need, and of course, diapers, but ya know, the one baby shower rule. I feel kind of greedy.
