i've done both. but mostly the first haha

but i'm sure others might have other suggestions!

i don't know about salon prices! the one time my friend added color to my hair she was just starting at aveda in seattle so i was a "hair model" for free haha

For my red I used SPLAT. They have some gorgeous color choices, and each one comes with the bleach kit and color.

I either want to do the red to blonde ombre when it's long enough, or for a little while I had black on top with a dark red/auburn on the bottom layer that I just loved.

I think a dark red would look good on you, your skin tone would play it well.
