The Christian god is better than your god

A bunch of people on FB were talking about religious tolerance. So I posted up "Everyone's talking about religious tolerance on Facebook today. Here are some of my gods." and I posted a few pictures of some of the Egyptian gods, each with their names. (I really do worship the Egyptian gods.)

I got this response and I'm not quite sure how to take it.

The man responding used to be my 12th grade literature teacher and I absolutely loved him, so I'm trying to not jump to thinking that he just insulted me using his God, but at the same time that's exactly what I think.
I have read the Bible and I have read the Exodus story many times, but the story changes nothing for me. It's a story. I don't doubt that Egypt's slaves broke free from Rameses, but I don't necessarily think the Hebrew God took on the Egyptian gods or anything like that.

What would you think? And how should I respond because I got nothing.

Maybe he just thinks its an interesting way for the book of exodus to be written. Because well it is. Someone who was educated on the Egyptian gods had to write it. Maybe he was just sharing what he knew about Egyptian gods..... It sounds exactly like something a literature teacher would write to me.

Maybe he's an atheist and thinks all gods are a little stupid? That'd be my first take...but I'm also an atheist.

Yeah I got nothing.. Like I am "christian" in several aspects but I don't think that the god they teach about is THE god so I constantly question everything.

No, he's Christian. He posts religious stuff all the time.

I'd post a list of all possible gods and ask him to refute every single one.


He should be busy awhile.

Maybe so. I hope that's what he meant. I don't want to be all rude to him and go, "What are you trying to say old man?" or something like that. Lol. He was like the #1 influential person to me back when I was in school.

I would probably just say... I respectfully disagree. Or something to that effect. Unless you want to engage in a debate with him.

I probably will just let it go. I did post that I am very fond of the Egyptian gods and have been ever since I can remember.
