What do you think of these?

posted 28th Jan
As parents, I think we focus more on trying to show our kids that negative things come from negative behavior. Well, I'm sick of it. I want to live and lead a more positive life.

This is a list of 21 creative punishments that focus more on positivity, rather than negativity.

This is my favorite one considering my kid is only 4.

1. If time-outs don't work, try a "time-in." This can be accomplished by sending your child to a designated spot where he must complete a task that has a definite beginning and end. This could be putting together a small puzzle, stringing 50 beads on a piece of yarn, or tracing the alphabet. A time-in diverts his energies and encourages him to focus on something positive.

Here is the link for the rest of the list.

Yeah, it gave me a new way of thinking! I'm so sick of yelling and doing time outs and crazy looks.

The only one i don't agree with so far is this one

. My friend, Becki, tried a variation on this idea in the car. If things got too raucous or there was too much fussing between siblings, she would cry, "Noses on knees!" Her children then had to immediately touch their noses to their knees until she determined that they had learned their lesson.

I mean that doesn't sound safe in the car!

Yeah. Do you have a suggestion to make them dotted lines? Is there a font for that?
