Did you have severe dandruff?

posted 28th Jan
What made it go away?

I'm not talking about a couple of flakes that go away with head and shoulders.

Since the beginning of fall, I have been having a severe problem with dandruff. My head feels constantly itchy and when I have a higher level of anxiety, my scalp feels like it's on fire. I don't really want to go to a dermatologist if I can treat it naturally or buy something without a prescription.

Has anyone else had it? Has anything helped yours go away? I don't know what's wrong with me!

I have tried:
Head and Shoulders
Selsun Blue
T/Sal

I wash my hair once every two days. Brush it everyday. Most of the problem it on the front of my scalp.

TIA!

Try adding Tea Tree Oil to your shampoo. About ten or fifteen drops should do it.

I've been having a really dry scalp lately, and in the same place. I know some of it is from winter dryness, and the other is from shampoos and conditioners.

Any time I've ever had flaking problems I've used regular Listerine on my scalp. The brown-ish colored nasty one. It feels so good once it hits the scalp.

I hope it's the cold weather. It is so embarrassing!

I never heard of Listerine, but to feel any relief would bee awesome. Thanks!

Welcome! I hope it helps you as much as it helped me. I hate dandruff and it's very frusterating when my scalp itches and itches and I just can't get it to stop. I actually have scabs from itching so bad at times. I need to pick up some more Tea Tree Oil too.

I have psoriasis of the scalp so its horrible.. I had to go to a dermatologist and get a special shampoo that helped A LOT but.. It gave my hair extreme volume and I had to stop using it because my hair is already thick and I just couldn't handle the volume.

Will that sting?

Do I do that after I shampoo or before? Do I leave it in like conditioner?

I have super thick hair, although with the discomfort, I wish I could shave it all off.

The symptoms I looked up seemed like psoriasis, but I don't see any red on my scalp so idk.

After you shampoo and it will be soothing. It will be runny, you can rinse right away after you apply or leave it for a bit. You can use it like a conditioner.

You can use that on a sunburn to take away the sting. I buy it by the gallon. Google apple cider vinegar uses, you will be amazed.

It's an old home remedy thing my mom taught me. I just put a little in a dixie cup and bent over in the shower and poured it on the front, like where my bangs are. It did help.
